The story takes place in Algeria in the 1930s. When Yunes was 9 years old, he was taken to the house of his uncle, who was a pharmacist in Oran, and was given a new name Jonas. He grew up with young people in the village of Rio Sarado and became friends. Among the group of friends was a girl Emily, and everyone fell in love with her. A great love affair was born between Jonas and her, but the relationship was soon disrupted by a conflict that caused turmoil in the country.
