Strange noises from space probes cause storms on earth and face the threat of self-destruction. Captain Kirk and his crew are once again on the mission of saving mankind. They discovered that the strange sound was actually the call of a humpback whale, and the only option was to go back to the 20th century to bring back a humpback whale to respond to the probe.
